«     A Mandatory drivers meeting will be held prior to start of pulling.  All tractors will be weighed and assigned a division at registration. 

«     All tractors must be re-weighed prior to hook-up, there is a five (5) pound variance in each class, driver's weight is included.

«     A tractor may pull only once in each class.  Sled operators decide number of classes each tractor may enter in excess of 2.  *Drivers under 18 years must see pull chairman at registration for proper waiver and special instructions.

«     Drivers must stay seated at all times. 

«     A tractor or puller found to be unsafe or illegal may be disqualified. 

«     No use of alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the tractor pull area. 

«     All tractors must have started production before 1960.

Medina County Fair Tractor Pull

«     Wheelie bars are recommended but not mandatory in Div. I or Div. II, but are required in Div. III.  Drawbars must not exceed 20 inches in height, however 16 inches is recommended for Div. I up to 8600 lbs.  Drawbars must be secure in all directions and must not be less than 18 inches from center of axle to hooking point.  The tractor must pull from a stationary drawbar, no pulling from drawbar support, exceptions to this rule are Ford 8 & 9 N’s, John Deere M’s, etc. which were produced without drawbars.

«     Hanging or suitcase weights are allowed in all divisions.  Weights cannot be more than 11 feet forward of center of rear axle.

«     Gas, Diesel, or LP fuels only.  No alcohol or nitrous oxide fuels are allowed.

«     No Hot Rod tractors may be entered.

«     The sled flagman has authority to stop tractor to enforce safety rules.

«     Tractor and sled must remain inbounds at all times.  Out of bounds will result in disqualification.

«     Anything falling off the tractor will result in a disqualification.

«     Distance of pull is determined by electronic measuring device on sled.

«     All normal and logical safety guidelines will be followed.

«     Flagman or Sled Operators will be final judge of disputes.

DIVISION I PULLING RULES

Division I is designed for beginning pullers and show tractors and is used to promote stock pulling.

Classes: 2600, 3100, 3600, 4100, 4600, 5100, 5600, 6100, 6600, 7100, 7600, 8100, 8600, 9600, 10600, 11600, 12600, 13600

Engine - Stock block, naturally aspirated.  Exceptions: Oliver 99 GM, etc. Stock head manifold, and carburetor (by part number).  Manifolds are to be replacement manufactured parts accepted for that make & model tractor.  Stock engine parts only, parts not in parts book or replacements parts book for that specific tractor cannot be used.  Exceptions: Distributors and Alternators can be used on Antique tractors.  No electronic ignition or KN type air filters.

Maximum Tire Size - 0-4600# 170 sq. in. max; 4601-600# 229 sq. in. max.; 6601-8600# 300 sq. in. max; 9600-11600# No tire limit.  No cut tires, no steel wheels, no shifting, no duals, no radial tires, rims & wheels must be OEM

Speed - first gear, 3 mph max. speed.

Weights - can be wheel weights or hanging weights

Drawbar height can be 20'.  16" is recommended up to 5600 lbs.

DIVISION II PULLING RULES

Division II is designed for competitive Pullers with modified tractors, piston kits, (over bored cylinders), etc.

Classes: 2600, 3100, 3600, 4100, 4600, 5100, 5600, 6100, 6600, 7100, 7600, 8100, 8600, 9600, 10600, 11600, 12600, 13600

Engine - Stock block, naturally aspirated.  Exceptions: Oliver 99 GM, etc.  Modified head, manifold, & carburetor, electronic ignition, etc.  Straight exhaust pipe allowed, air filter must be used, may be any type. 10% over rpms.

Maximum tire size - 0-4600# 170 sq. in. max; 6601-8600# 300 sq. in. max; 9600-11600# no tire limit; See tire size chart below, no steel wheels, no cut tires, no duals, no radial tires, no shifting, wheelie bars are recommended.

Speed - 1st or 2nd gear - 5 mph max. speed

Weights - wheel weights or hanging weights.

Tire Sizes:

0-3600# Class - max 130 sq. in.;  11.2 x 38 - 120 sq.in.; 11.2 x 36 - 115 sq.in.; 12.4 x 28 - 126 sq.in.; 13.6 x 24 - 130 sq.in.

3601-4600# Class - max 145sq.in.; 12.4 x 38 - 140 sq.in.; 12.4 x 36 - 135 sq.in.; 13.6 x 28 - 145 sq.in; 14.9 x 26 - 144 sq.in.

4501-5600# Class - max 170 sq.in.; 13.6 x 38 - 168 sq.in.; 14.9 x 28 - 170 sq.in.

5601-6600# Class - max 229 sq.in.; 14.9 x 38 - 200 sq.in.; 15.5 x 38 - 189 sq.in.; 16.9 x 34 - 229 sq.in.

6601-7600# Class - max 284 sq.in.; 18.4 x 34 - 284 sq.in; 16.9 x 38 - 252 sq.in ; 18.4 x 28 - 250 sq.in.

7601-13,600# Class - max 300 sq.in; 18.4 x 38 - 300 sq.in.

9600-13600 No tire limit

DIVISION III PULLING RULES

Division III is designed for modified & stroked Engines

Classes:  3100, 3600, 4100, 4600, 5100, 5600, 6100, 6600, 7100, 7600, 8100, 8600, 9600, 10600, 11600, 12600, 13600

Tractors manufactured to use diesel fuel only cannot be converted to gas or LP.  Tractors must be naturally aspirated. No turbos or blowers  - except Oliver 99 GM, etc.

Tractors must have stock engine, frames, transmissions, rear end & axle housings or manufacturer’s replacement.  Stock heads & their replacements are to remain unchanged in outside appearance.  No 7 bolt main blocks in Olivers, no (12) port heads, no 1600 series heads.  AC-WC/WD/WD45 can use D-17 engine, IH- H, 350; M, 450.  JD - A/B/G can use power blocks, No M-M 800 heads or blocks.  Dual exhaust allowed.

RPMs allowed 25% over.  All tractors to have positive throttle stops with a working governor in the stock location.

Enhanced electrical systems permitted in all classes.

Maximum tire size 18.4 x 38; any rim width. No radial tires. No steel wheels.  Two-wheel drive only.  No duals.  Any cuts allowed on tires.  Wheelie bars are mandatory

Speed not over 7 mph in any gear.  No shifting of TA’s. 7 mph max. speed.

DIVISION IV & V PULLING RULES

Division IV and V tractors can pull Exhibition Only.  Div. IV & V rules available at sign-in table.

Local Farm Tractors can pull if they meet sled operators requirements.
